Released Gitmo Detainees Rejoin The Terrorists

Filed under: General , Terrorism and Islam @ 4:59 pm

At least 10 detainees released from the Guantanamo Bay prison after U.S. officials concluded they posed little threat have been recaptured or killed fighting U.S. or coalition forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to Pentagon officials.

What I want to know is WHY ARE WE LETTING THEM GO?

These cases clearly demonstrate the difficulty Washington faces in deciding when alleged al Qaeda and Taliban detainees should be freed, amid pressure from foreign governments and human rights groups that have denounced U.S. officials for detaining the Guantanamo Bay captives for years without due-process rights, military officials said.

I say to hell with the foreign governments and the stupid communist ‘human rights’ groups, we should ‘take care of business’ and squash those bugs. !

See Stolen Honor Here For Free

Right Voices has Stolen Honor Wounds That Never Heal for free. All you have to do is click here.

The Kerry campaign is spending all kinds of time and money (calling on the FCC, suing Sinclair, etc.,etc.) trying to block the showing of the movie, but this story must be told before the election. So spread the word.

Background: When John Kerry appeared before the U. S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the spring of 1971, his testimony sent shock waves throughout America and the world. Here was a young, articulate Ivy-Leaguer, a highly decorated Naval officer who had seen combat in Vietnam. Now, driven by conscience and lofty ideals, Lt. Kerry said he felt compelled to break his silence and tell the unvarnished truth about the Vietnam War and those who fought it. The war, he said, was a criminal endeavor driven by a “policy of atrocities.” The 2.5 million men who served in Vietnam were akin to “Genghis Khan’s barbaric hordes,” thugs and psychopathic war criminals who wantonly plundered the Vietnam countryside, murdering, raping and bombing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians – old men, women and children — each and every day.

Lt. Kerry’s widely televised statements were dramatic and persuasive, made all the more credible by the fact he had been there, said he had witnessed many of these same atrocities. His testimony catapulted him to international prominence and the ranks of leadership in the American anti-war movement, launching his once failing political career. It also permanently branded in the American psyche the image of Vietnam veterans as murderous “baby killers” and “drugged out losers,” a perception that persists today, one deeply embedded in our history.

That single act earned for Kerry the lasting enmity of Vietnam veterans, especially those who had borne the brunt of his accusations, that small percentage of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen who actually served on the frontlines. Many of these combat veterans would carry the scars of their service for life. Kerry’s repudiation of their sacrifice represented yet another war wound, one that would never heal. As compelling as Kerry’s Senate testimony was, these men knew it was lacking in one key element … truth. They knew from their own combat experiences virtually all his allegations were lies; the U.S. military would never countenance such brutality. And, they also knew his actions were a deliberate betrayal of all of them, especially the more than 58,000 who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.

But, perhaps, more than any living group of combat veterans, it was the America ’s POWs who suffered most, forced to endure the immediate consequences of Kerry’s treacherous falsehoods. In 1971, some 700 of these men were reported as captured or missing in action, most presumed held prisoner by the North Vietnamese Communists in such places as the notorious Hanoi Hilton. Already subjected to years of torture, solitary confinement and unspeakable psychological and physical abuse, their lives were literally hanging by a thread when Kerry issued his damning testimony. In mere moments, Kerry had willingly given the Vietnamese Communists what they had spent years of torture and blood-letting to drag out of their American hostages, an unqualified “confession” they were all war criminals.

Ron Paul-We Are Supposed To Be Free

“I Have A Plan…”

As election time nears, we are bombarded with political ads and speeches by candidates telling us their great plans for running the country. At the end of the recent presidential debate, for example, the Democratic nominee recited a litany of supposed cures for nearly everything that ails us, beginning each sentence with the phrase “I have a plan…”

The problem is that government is not supposed to plan our lives or run the country; we are supposed to be free. That our public discourse strays so far from this principle is an unhappy sign of our times. Those who believe in limited constitutional government should worry every time a politician says, “I have a plan.”

Remember, there is a simple dictionary definition for government planning of the production and provision of goods and services: socialism. No matter how much the grand planners from both political parties deny it, many of their programs and proposals are socialist. Federal taxes, regulations, welfare, subsidies, wage controls, price controls, and interest rate manipulations all represent socialist interventions in the economy. True, we do not yet have a fully socialist economy. But that is why we must be vigilant and label socialist proposals for exactly what they are, so we can maintain and expand economic freedom in America.

Both history and economic theory prove conclusively that centrally-planned economies lower the standard of living for everyone except government elites. Historically, centralized economic planning goes hand in hand with hardship and bloodshed. Modern soft socialism, found in nations like Sweden and France, is beginning to implode of its own weight as governments realize they simply cannot fund cradle-to-grave programs without imposing tax rates that kill any last remnants of productive spark in their citizens.

By contrast, capitalism–which is to say economic freedom– raises the standard of living for everyone in a society. But we must understand what capitalism really is. Capitalism is not a system, but rather the result of free individuals taking economic actions without interference by government. A true capitalist economy is neither planned by bureaucrats nor steered by regulators. This is why it’s so important that we resist the idea that any president should plan our economy. If we accept that government “runs” the economy, we accept a fundamental tenet of socialism. We must understand that economic liberty is every bit as important as political and civil liberties.

In a truly free nation, the government acts only as a referee by protecting property rights, enforcing contracts, prohibiting force and fraud, and providing national defense. Such was the system envision by the Founding Fathers, who strictly limited regulatory and tax powers in the Constitution. They were tired of having their business affairs managed by the Crown, so they created a servant government that would allow freedom and capitalism to flourish.

Today’s political rhetoric demonstrates that the servant has become the master. Most politicians, and too many Americans, have accepted the premise that government should plan our lives and control the economy. This subservient mindset encourages political pandering, as candidates strive to convince voters of their superior plans to take care of all of us. For a nation founded upon rugged individualism and self-reliance, the modern political landscape represents a wake-up call. Unless and until Americans begin to reclaim the mentality that made us great, we are destined to slide further into an economic and political malaise that cannot be solved by the grandiose plans of politicians.

Legitimizing Mexican Illegals

As a followup to Michelle Malkin’s article on the borders issue, there is a frightening picture that is coming together for me. Sheesh, I’m having an epiphany!

“The Mexican Consulate and LaCasa of Goshen [Indiana] will be assisting Mexican citizens residing locally to obtain identification cards and Fifth Third Bank will be on hand to explain the benefits and safety of the American banking system,” announced the Goshen News for August 23.

“The Consulate General of Mexico’s mobile office will be in Goshen Wednesday through Saturday to issue Mexican passports, Matricula Consular identification cards [issued by the Mexican government for Mexican nationals living in other countries] and military service cards.”

Officials from the bank would also help local illegal aliens-whom they call “Mexican citizens residing locally”-to

“open accounts with the Matricula Consular card as a primary form of identification.”

That card, it should be noted, is a non-secure document issued by the Mexican government without regard to the recipient’s immigration status.

The Mexican government uses the Matricula card as a way of “legalizing” its nationals who are in our country illegally. Addressing that cohort of lawbreakers, the goshen News helpfully pointed out,

“Participation in the mainstream banking [system] is often critical for economic success and personal safety…Last year, Fifth Third Bank worked with the Mexican Conulate’s mobile office in Indiana to offer similar services. Several hundred accounts were opened for individuals who obtained a proper ID card.”

Essentially, the Mexican government has arranged an illegal ID mill that delivers.

And it bears repeated emphasis that this breezily worded public service announcement, describing the Mexican government’s subversive efforts to mobilize illegal aliens, appeared in a local community newspaper in a rural mid-western US town. It also bears repeating that this open invasion of the US by Mexican officials was aided and abetted by the decision last year of the Bush Administration’s Treasury Department to accept the Matricular Consular cards as legitimate identification. This decision amounted to a de facto amnesty for illegal aliens.
