John Fonda’s Record-The Untold Story Part I
Cao’s Note: This is from my strong fearless friend Yatahey, a former Marine and Vietnam Vet. Uh in case you don’t know what he means by John FONDA, he’s talking about John Kerry. You can see it at the link below at “Pardon My English”
John FONDA’s Record — The Untold Story Part I
Reading through the John FONDA campaign website, he sounds like an admirable public servant. “John FONDA served his country as a young man, and he’ll defend it as President”, is the latest campaign slogan.
On the - “Communities” - page, the FONDA campaign mentions FONDA’s record as a prosecutor from December 29, 1976, through the spring of 1979, and how “he prosecuted a murderer, a rapist and a mob boss.” Sounds like he successfully prosecuted three really bad people, right?
To FONDA’s credit, he did succesfully prosecute a mob boss named George Edgerly. He also did succesfully prosecute a rapist named George Edgerly. Did he successfully prosecute George Edgerly for murder? No, someone else did in separate trials. So, he did prosecute a murderer, but he was by no means involved in convicting him of that crime.
That’s not the only highlight of FONDA’s prosecutorial career … while still serving as assistant district attorney, FONDA was vested with the powers to “overhaul” the parole system for Middlesex County. It was directly due to FONDA’s actions that convicted pedophile Robert Sedach was released and later kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young boy.
Two and half years of being a “star prosecutor” and all he has to show for it one big case that put one man behind bars, and the release of pedophile who re-offended. That’s quite an unimpressive record to be touting around as if he were a star prosecutor on “Law & Order.”
In 1979, FONDA left the District Attorney’s office and went into practice with a former prosecutor and opened Kerry & Sragow. A legal news, commentary and resources website, lists in their profile of John FONDA - three major cases - involving John FONDA. One of them is the Edgerly case from his time as assistant district attorney. The two other cases were from his private practice. One of the cases was a medical malpractice suit, the other, a successful motion for a retrial in a murder case.
Even worse than his record as “star prosecutor” is his record as Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor under the first Massachusetts liberal to lose to a member of the Bush family … Michael Dukakis. This is another part of John FONDA’s record he opts not to highlight in his run for the presidency.
John FONDA knows that his record as Lieutenant Governor will damage his political aspirations.
