This is sad and sickening news. And I hate the way it was presented.

Hezbollah returned the remains of two Israeli soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, who were captured by the group two years ago.

What is horrible about that article is that it begins with - not the return of the young Israeli solders’ remains in a black coffin, but rather, the “exchange” for live terrorists.

BEIRUT, July 17 (Xinhua) — Lebanon’s Hezbollah Wednesday successfully got back five Lebanese prisoners in a hostage swap with Israel that many believed was lopsided and would further boost the Shiite militant group’s influence within Lebanon.

Four imprisoned Hezbollah militants and a convicted Lebanese killer were handed over to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the Rosh Hanikra border crossing, who then transferred them to the Lebanese side.

You’re damned right it was lopsided; and so is that article. “Success” is in that first sentence, when all I can think about are the families and friends of the two Israeli reserve soldiers. Hezbollah received live convicted criminal murderers back into their midst so they could kill more innocents on another day.

What that article refrained from mentioning is the horrific crimes these individuals had committed.

Samir Kuntar, who was convicted of killing a girl and her father in 1979,

He had in fact bashed in the little girl’s skull against a rock with a rifle butt after shooting her father to death in front of her; one of the last images she would ever see.

Naturally this lopsided swap was arranged by the United Nations.

And those are the kind of ‘heroes’ that were given a red carpet welcome when Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev were returned home to their families in a box.

The day after Israel Reacts

They are calling this a ‘prisoner swap’ when this is nothing of the sort. A swap is one thing for another; if this were a swap, the Israelis would be celebrating the return of two men - very much alive.

synonyms of “swap” are exchange, “reciprocal transfer of equivalent sums of money (especially the currencies of different countries)

All things in this ‘trade’ were not equal; the Israeli’s lost big time. Israel also handed over the bodies of 199 Hezbollah terrorists.
