Obama in Kuwait: not a smash hit

Filed under: Afghanistan, Iraq & Military , General , Obama @ 8:29 pm

raceinthemilitary.GIFFrom what I can see from the few photographs I’ve seen of Obama with military men and women in Kuwait, there seem to be quite a few people - of color - who don’t have very happy looks on their faces.

I saw a priceless picture at Sweetness and Light, and more at Gateway Pundit; but you can’t blame them (our troops) for not liking the guy and letting it show on their faces. He’s voted against their efforts and against funding their mission. He’s one of the leading anti-war democrats; even worse that Hillary Clinton. And Obama appears to be just as popular with our troops as Bill Clinton was.

The main reason for that is probably the fact that democrats don’t listen to our military leaders for recommendations or assessments of their situation - when they’re smack-dab in the middle of a war zone. Diplomats who’ve taken courses in ‘peace and conflict studies’ are far more qualified; which is why Obama has 300 people to advise him on foreign policy.

But you won’t see that in the unhinged reports: Wall to Wall Coverage for Obama

The mainstream media are slobbering all over Barack Obama’s overseas dog and pony show, with a barrage of uncritical coverage and shameless partisan promotion. He’s in Afghanistan now, to pretend that he’s learning something about the war there: Barack Obama lands in Afghanistan on first leg of world tour.

It sounds like they’re referring to a rock concert instead of a presidential candidate. When was the last time a president went on a ‘world tour’? Where are those ticket sales?
While Hyping Obama’s Trip, CBS Notes ‘Blistering Critiques’ of ‘Liberal Media’ from ‘Conservative Blogosphere’ Well boo-hoo.

And strangely enough, white people are the minority in these photos, even though white kids are the majority who are serving.

They’re there, supposedly, to get a take from commissioned and non commissioned officers about what is going on there. So let’s hope that we don’t find that Obama’s little contingent is talking to

So I guess Obama didn’t have enough people to go with him to orchestrate the photo ops and demand that more white folks were standing behind him.

With a garrison of 9,000 in Kuwait, 10% would have been 900 troops. The pictures don’t even show half that. I saw an article that claimed that they ’scored’ (as though this is a basketball game) - and interview with Obama while he’s abroad. Big woop.

But you can bet that Chris Matthews or some other drooling Obama synchopant will gush on about what a great success this trip was; when the reality is sitting right in front of you.

There’s nothing like going to a burning hot hell hole and try to make nice with people who don’t think very highly of you. In order to get a better representation of our fighting men and women, you would have seen a lot more white faces in that little group around him, and they’re just not there.

That phrase from the Audacity of Hope keeps haunting me…

If it gets ugly, Obama will side with the muslims.

Donald Young, TUCC, Obama and Wright

Filed under: Blogosphere , Larry Sinclair , Obama @ 9:23 am

This is very interesting.

If Wright announced to his congregation in the morning that Donald Young was dead - hours before he was officially pronounced dead, you would think there would be more people interested in how he came to that conclusion, who told him, how did he know, who contacted him, who he was calling and who was calling him, etc.

Did the media treat the murders of Mary Jo Kopechne, Vince Foster, Marilyn Monroe and others - in the same way?

Larry Bland, like Donald Young, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds in the month before Donald Young’s murder - the medical examiner pronounced him dead on November 17, 2007. Nate Spencer succumbed to HIV, “septicemia, pneumonia, HIV”, which was pronounced by the medical examiner on December 26, 2007.

If someone were really researching this, they would find out the medical examiner’s estimated time of death for Donald Young and Larry Bland, the numbers showing up on Obama and Wright’s telephone records could prove to be very interesting.

Either interesting, or would completely exonerate them from any involvement, although….it still leaves the allegations unanswered about Obama having homosexual sex in the back of a limo while sucking on a crack pipe. Maybe it’s time people started interviewing homosexuals who knew Donald Young; and who have said Obama is ‘on the down low”.

Simply stated; an alibi and opening the phone records up to the public or to an investigative reporter would either implicate them, or completely exonerate both of them and stop people from speculating.

As it stands now, it looks very odd….and the longer Obama and Axelrod remain silent on the issue, and the more hysterical the Obama bloggers get, the more it appears as though they are deliberately evading the truth.

Phil Gramm quits as Co-Chair of McCain’s campaign

I wonder what the story is here.

STATEMENT BY SENATOR PHIL GRAMM
For Immediate Release
Contact: Press Office
Friday, July 18, 2008
703-650-5550
ARLINGTON, VA — Today, former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm issued the following statement:
“It is clear to me that Democrats want to attack me rather than debate Senator McCain on important economic issues facing the country. That kind of distraction hurts not only Senator McCain’s ability to present concrete programs to deal with the country’s problems, it hurts the country. To end this distraction and get on with the real debate, I hereby step down as Co-Chair of the McCain Campaign and join the growing number of rank-and-file McCain supporters.”

I don’t really follow what’ happening with the McCain campaign because I think he’s a less-than-ideal candidate, but Malkin says he was either thrown off the McCain campaign’s bus, or pushed off of it.

It’s distracting when someone uses that ‘distraction’ rhetoric. What does that really mean–he can’t take the heat?

People need to realize the tactics that the democratic socialists of today use; it’s personal attacks and ’shoot the messenger’ - not debating facts.

Obama in Afghanistan

Filed under: Afghanistan, Iraq & Military , Obama @ 7:12 am

Obama’s policy advisor seems to think that a surge of troops will make little difference; yet, Obama has called for sending 7,000 more troops to Afghanistan, and shifting the focus from what he terms as Bush’s “single-minded” focus on Iraq.

We have 36,000 troops in Afghanistan; 1/4 of the number we have in Iraq, but news reports are using the fact that more have been killed in Afghanistan than Iraq in May and June.

“I don’t think decreasing or increasing troop numbers is going to yield a long-term stability here or peace,” Matt Waldman, policy adviser to Oxfam International, one of the largest development agencies in Afghanistan, told Reuters.

More effective aid, support for rural development and working on peace and conflict resolution at a local level are the real priorities, Waldman said.

Well of course Waldman would say that; his BUSINESS is “development”, so for him, rural development and peace and conflict resolution; the socialist view; is the focus.

Forget the fact that the Taliban terrorists are back to intimidating, threatening and beheading people. Could this be due to Karzai making a big deal out of ‘forgiving’ and releasing Taliban and Al Q rapists and murderers from prisons such as Pulacharke???

What good is sending troops over there if they’re not allowed to shoot at terrorists until they’re attacked first? This is setting our guys up to be sitting ducks.

I am against our sending more troops to Afghanistan under the current conditions; the rules they are forced to abide by are ridiculous.

Reuters article Afghans call for new strategy as Obama visits

Of course the Afghans are calling for a new strategy - they don’t want us to fight and win against the Taliban and Al Q, they want us to continue sending billions of dollars over there, which never serves its intended purpose. I gather Karzai is lining his pockets with a lot of that ‘humanitarian aid’.

Terrorist organizations, and unscrupulous individuals including socialists and communists (such as George Galloway), use humanitarian aid money for their own ends.

This is one of the reasons that Saddam’s pockets were bulging with Oil for Food money.

There is a similarity between Saddam’s Iraq and Karzai’s Afghanistan, although Saddam was not a dual citizen like Karzai is. Reportedly, Karzai before he was propped by the American government as their candidate in Afghanistan, was chopping tomatoes in his brother’s restaurant in Maryland. He has an 8th grade education and is no more qualified to run that country than my dog, although he IS a snappy dresser.

Why Obama wants to divert resources to Afghanistan is a complete mystery to me, when he doesn’t believe in the military’s ability to accomplish anything - he comes from the ‘peace and conflict studies’ line of thinking, and that ‘war is not the answer’.
